A little bit about me…

I live on the west side of Atlanta in Powder Springs, GA with my beautiful wife Catea and our kids, Hannah, E.J., Riley, Kaden, and Audrey. Between family, church, teaching music, and graphic and website design, I have a pretty busy life. I enjoy playing with my kids, piano, guitar, cooking (grilling), and I’m an electronics and computer nerd. Catea and I both grew up in the country but we have adjusted to city life just fine. We have found out that we were city slickers all along but just didn’t know it.

I am a founding elder and the Creative Arts Pastor of a new church in Austell named The Journey. We are associated with a great church planting network named Acts 29. The other founding elder and Teaching Pastor is Jason Martin. Jason and I have been friends since high school, which is getting uncomfortably close to 20 years now. The Journey is a casual and contemporary church with a missional and incarnational approach to ministry. At The Journey, we love both contemporary and historical expressions of our Christian faith so, we are a mix of both new and old. We try to keep it simple. Jesus is our hero and the bible is our guide.

I support myself several ways outside of the church. I teach music lessons (piano, voice, and bass guitar). I do freelance graphic design and websites. I also consult with people on their overall web presence.
